New Beginnings

One-yard Wonders
I know the book is a bit older, but I do think that it is great, it helps you find ways to use up those 1 yard/1 meter pieces that you buy up thinking you'll use, but wind up collecting instead.

From the beggining of the book you know it's not totally set up in the traditional "learn how to sew" fashion, fifteen pages are set aside as "Sewing
Fundamentals" to remind you (or if you are newer to sewing to explain) what all of the terminology is. With two of the fifteen set aside with sewing equipment must-haves that are needed to reproduce the patterns in the book.

The book is set out in a way that you mark everything onto the back (or front) of your fabric in a fabric marker, I do find it's nice to have a quilters ruler handy for some of the marking some of the patterns onto the fabric, but, most of the patterns are very forgiving if your lines are a bit crooked.

All in all, it's a nice book to have, even if it's just for ideas of what you can use your fabric on. Moat of the items I have made have been given away as gifts, but when I get more made I'll make sure to post some of the pictures.
